home stuff

I'm going to use this fish to display my street number outside! I'll futz around some more making it look more fish like then put "200" on the side and hang it outside for all the world to see. In person, it's more purple but this gives me an idea where the shading needs to be fixed up, and that the face is too out lined. I have had this cut out for ages, wanting to make it an address sign, yay!

Bead area version 1. There's a set of shelves to the left full of fabric, felt and other extra stuff. The table to the right is where the sewing machine is going to be set up all the time, just in case I get a sudden urge to sew. Those fish on the blue foam board were one of those "must sew" moments, and I totally love their raw edge fishyness. The blue foam board is a piece of styrofoam insulation I found in the shed...I had been thinking about buying some anyway, it makes a great cheap design board. ...and blanks out some of the bruised grape wall nicely.

Thanks Heather...I often wonder if I ramble too much, it's hard to balance journal and public sometimes.

Thoughts on changing grape wall...a pretty turquoise or misty green (like the outside of your house) so it would seem like your fish are in water...and brighten up the room

Good idea on the grape wall...I do have some lighter blue and green paint that might mix together to make a decent tealy water color.

I think that is going to be great to put your house numbers on. LOL! We have our numbers on wooden Scotties over the garage. No one can miss our house. You work space is looking GREAT!

I want to do a huge school of the fabric fish and have them swimming all along the wall. I'm glad I have space for them now, they might even make a cool window covering...hmmm.

Awesome fish for your house numbers. And the fabric fish look great! I still have the one you gave to me stuck to my corkboard above my computer area. Gives me a smile every time I look up and see it. :)

The fish with your numbers will really stand out. What a great idea. I'm thinking of painting a pear on my mailbox because of my last name.
