The last of the knitting for money...so far

This first pair is for Tara Bicknell, news diva for radio free Haines, KHNS. She wanted autumn colors, I hope I got it right, I couldn't resist a little green and purple...some leaves turn purple, right?
These are birthday mittens for Kayti H. she doesn't know what they look like yet, don't tell her, ok? She asked for "earth tones" again...had to put in the green. Maybe these are a little autumnal too.
This pair are on the hands of Jessy S. already. Fun to make with the addition of the hand dyed purple/blue and the strip of hand dyed green/blue.

There is a missing set that I made for Mellie L. I forgot to photograph them, then she didn't have them with her at the Market then I didn't have my camera with me. Hers are mostly black, white and gray with a bit of red dotting.
A small group portrait of falling mittens. I'm a little glad to be done with mittens for a while, but I've gotten awfully fast at making them. I might celebrate by making myself a pair of the short ones.

They look great! And warm.

I'm pretty sure that ornamental japanese cherry tree leaves turn purple.

You're right Dave, now we need a tree that turns blue so I can say I like autumn colors too.

Not surprised, Dulcey...with a little more pea green, they fit right in your color scheme!

Just found something out... Any tree that has dark red fall leaf colour can have blue ones by cranking up the PH of the soil to over 11. That's some seriously basic soil... Not sure how the tree itself would like it, though.

I understand you can change the color of hydrangeas the same way. The soil here is pretty acid, I'd probably have to dump a load of lime on the not so happy front yard maple to get purple... Maybe I'll test the theory on my neighbor's tree.

I got my hydragngeas bright bright pink this year. If you want a really basic soil that doesn't harm the plants, try colloidal silver when you water.
