I got the urge to make another kind of fish a few days ago. I wanted to do some embroidery and quilty kind of stuff. I used one of my felt fish as the base and some of the (way too) many batik fabrics for the colors and textures. I've re-done the face 3 times, I was making it way too complicated and it looked bad.

Sun envy! It's been a cool summer here, good for crafts though.
Oh, it's beautiful! I know what you mean about making something too complicated. I'm currently (over)doing my mini art quilt and I don't know if it's getting better the more I add, or worse. I guess I'll know when it's done!
I think I get too wrapped up in the details with beading, maybe embroidery will help me slow down. This fish is partly inspired by those pillows you got, Jos...he might be a pillow or might be a quilt square.
